Embed the form on your website

Updated 21 October 2026 · 3 min read

Publish the form, open its Settings tab, click Copy code under Show this form on your website, and paste the code into a page of your site. To stop other sites from showing it, list your own sites under Only allow these websites.

Instead of sending a link, you can show the form inside a page of your own website, for example on a “Request a quote” page. Visitors answer without leaving your site, and the answers still come to your Fillfold account.

Adding the form to a page

  1. Publish the form first. The code only works once the form is published. See Publish and share.
  2. In the form builder, open the Settings tab.
  3. Find the box Show this form on your website and click Copy code.
  4. In your website editor, open the page and add a block that accepts HTML code. Most site builders have one, often called “HTML”, “Embed” or “Code”.
  5. Paste the code there and save the page.
  6. Open the page in your browser and check that the form appears.

The code is a frame (an iframe, a window that shows one web page inside another) plus a few lines of script. The script adjusts the height of the frame to the form, so your visitors do not have to scroll inside a small box.

Choosing the websites allowed to show it

By default, any website can show your form in a frame. To limit that to your own sites:

  1. In the same box, find Only allow these websites (optional).
  2. Type one website per line, for example www.yoursite.com. You can paste a full address: Fillfold keeps only the site part.
  3. To allow every subdomain, write *.yoursite.com.
  4. The list is saved automatically. Leave it empty to allow any website again.

You can list up to 10 websites. Only secure addresses (https://) are accepted. If a line is not a valid website, a message names it, and that line is ignored.

Good to know

  • *.yoursite.com covers shop.yoursite.com and www.yoursite.com, but not yoursite.com on its own. If your site opens without www, add that line too.
  • The list controls who may show the form inside a page. The public link itself keeps working for anyone who has it.
  • Changes to the list apply without publishing again. Allow a minute before testing.
  • The code contains the form's public address. If you change that address in Public address, copy the new code and paste it again.
  • If you unpublish the form, the frame shows a “not found” page until you publish again.
  • The embedded form picks its language the same way as the link. See A form in several languages.

Questions

Do embedded answers arrive somewhere else?
No. Answers sent from your website arrive in your Fillfold account exactly like answers sent through the link, with their PDF.
Can I embed the form on several websites?
Yes. Leave the list of allowed websites empty to allow any site, or list up to 10 websites, one per line.
