Move-out inspection checklist with room-by-room condition

A clear move-out record protects both landlord and tenant. This checklist asks for the tenant's name, the property address and the inspection date, then the condition of the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms (good, normal wear or damaged), details of any damage, two photos, the final meter reading and the tenant's signature.

Who it is for

When to use it

Fill it in during the final walk-through, on a phone or tablet. Showing one question at a time as a card keeps the inspection orderly. The distinction between normal wear and damage matters when the deposit is discussed, and photos taken on the day help settle disagreements.

Questions people ask

Does it decide what can be deducted from the deposit?
No. It records the condition. What a landlord may deduct depends on the lease and the law where you live.
Can I add more rooms or photos?
Yes. Add a question for each additional room, and more photo uploads if you need them.
Should both parties sign?
This template has the tenant's signature. Add a second signature question for the landlord or agent if you want both on the record.
