Call for speakers: speaker application form
A call for speakers lives or dies on how easy it is to compare proposals. This form asks for each speaker's contact details, a short bio, a talk title, an abstract, the talk length (20 minutes, 40 minutes or a 90-minute workshop), the equipment needed, a headshot and whether they need travel support.
Who it is for
- Conference and meetup organisers
- Programme committees selecting talks
- Associations and universities running a seminar series
When to use it
Open the call a few months before the event and share the link widely. Every proposal arrives in the same format, so reviewing is quick and fair, and the headshot and bio are ready if the talk is accepted.

The PDF your respondents receive
Each proposal is a PDF with the bio, abstract and requirements, and the headshot shown with it. Committee members can read them in order, and you keep a record of who proposed what.

Questions people ask
- Can reviewers score the proposals in Fillfold?
- No. Fillfold collects and records proposals. Scoring and selection happen in your own process, for example a spreadsheet.
- Can speakers attach slides?
- This template asks for a headshot in PNG or JPEG. Add a file upload question if you want an outline or slides.
- Can I ask for a deadline?
- Yes. Set a closing date in the form's settings, and the form stops accepting proposals on that date. Mention the deadline in the introduction too.
