Start from a ready-made template

Open Templates in your workspace, pick one, check the preview and the sample PDF, then click Use this template. You get a private draft with the questions and the document, ready to change.
A template is a finished form and its PDF document, already laid out for one job: a quote, a job sheet, an inspection report, a client intake. Starting from one is the fastest way to a working form, because the questions, the calculations and the document already fit together.
Choosing and copying a template
- In the menu on the left, open Templates. You can also click Or start from one of 97 ready-made templates under the name box on the Forms page.
- Type a word in the search box (for example "quote" or "rental"), or click a category to narrow the list.
- Click a template. Its page shows a Preview of the real form, then The document: a sample PDF filled with invented answers.
- Check the name in the box at the top. It is the name of your new form, and you can change it now or later.
- Click Use this template. Fillfold creates a new draft and opens it in the form builder.
The copy is yours. Nothing links it back to the template, and nothing is published until you decide to.
Making it yours
- Questions: in the Questions tab, click a question to change its wording, make it required, or delete it. Add your own with Add a question. See question types.
- Document: click Document at the top of the builder to change the layout, the text and the logo of the PDF. See design the PDF.
- Your details: the quote with totals and invoice with totals templates print your business name, address and VAT number from your business details. Fill them in once and every document uses them.
Saving your own templates
When a form works well, keep it as a starting point. On the Forms page, click the bookmark icon (Save as template) on that form's row, give it a Template name and click Save template. It appears under My templates at the top of the Templates page, where only you can see it. Responses are never copied into a template.
Good to know
- Templates are a starting point, not legal advice. You remain responsible for the wording of your forms and documents.
- Template forms are written in the language of your workspace. To offer the form in more languages, see several languages.
- You can browse the templates without an account, for example the quote with totals, the job sheet or the inspection report, or the full list on all templates.
- Prefer a blank page? Type a name on the Forms page and click Create form, or let AI draft the form from a short description.
When the draft looks right, publish it and share the link.
